1999 - 2006 "First Generation Silverado (GMT 800)"– The new line of Chevy full-size pickups are renamed “Silverado,” and feature of muscular aerodynamic design, a hydroformed frame and a new line of powerful Vortec V8 engines. Light-duty models use the “1500” name, while HD models are referred to as “2500” and “3500.” In 2000, a rear driver-side door option is offered for the Extended Cab, giving it four doors, and a crew cab body is added to the lineup.
