Chevrolet's Corvette Studio (known as Chevy III) was already developing design concepts for the C5 when they took this concept clay model out to the Design Patio for a review in early November, 1987. The cables underneath the model connected to a portable control panel that allowed the studio to adjust the model's height and attitude to demonstrate the changes resulting from various suspension and chassis alternatives.
